SUPPLEMENTARY NUTRITION PROGRAMME :

  1. Year of Commencement :  1975 – 1976 – in Tamil Nadu ;  1994– 1995– in Kanyakumari District
  1. Objective of the Scheme : To improve nutrition and health status of children under 6 Years, pregnant and lactating mothers and adolescent girls. To achieve the status of Malnutrition Free State and Universalisation of Integrated Child Development Services in the State under ‘Mission Mode’.
  2. Number of Units : At the rate of 100 Centres per project covering population of one lakh
