📖 Description: It was constructed around 1601 A.D by Iravi Varma Kulasekara Perumal. It was the Official residence of the Maharaja of Travancore. Till 1795, Padmanabhapuram served as the capital of Travancore after which it was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram. The 6.5 acres of the Padmanabhapuram palace complex is set within a fort of 185 acres located strategically at the foot hills of Veli hills, Western ghats. It is located 52 kms. from Trivandurm and 2 kms. east of Thuckalai.
