📖 Description:
Perunchani dam is located about 62 Km. away from Kanniyakumari. Perunchani dams is an irrigation dam at Kalkulam taluk, Kanniyakumari District. It one of the dams of the Kodaiyar irrigation system. As there was a water deficiency in the Kodaiyar irrigation system, Perunchani dam was constructed in December 1952 to store flood water of the Paralayar river as an extension.
